11.27.13 – Wednesday – Thanksgiving

Today’s schedule:
Class at 6a and 9a
Open Gym from 10a-1p

We are closed tomorrow for Thanksgiving

In no particular order, a list of things I’m thankful for:

The awesome people at CrossFit Manatee
Without our awesome members and trainers, our gym would just be a big, empty storefront with some barbells. You guys make CFM the amazing place that it is. Thank you!

Naps
Because there’s nothing more glorious than the moment your inner monologue changes from “I’m so tired, I only got 5 hours of sleep last night” to “I have an hour this afternoon that I can take a nap!”

The Clean
By far my favorite lift. There’s just something so primally satisfying about grabbing a heavy object and heaving it up to your shoulders. Sticking the landing on a heavy squat clean is probably the most satisfying feeling I’ve ever had in the gym.

Netflix
Seriously, how did people watch TV when your options were limited whatever happened to be on when you had free time? How could you possibly follow a show when doing so meant committing to parking your rear end in front of the TV at a specific day and time for months on end? It defies belief.

Kim Lord
She’s beautiful, she’s funny, she’s kind, she’s great at her job, she’s thumb-war champion of the world, and she makes me the happiest person on earth. I’d say she’s smart, as there’s lot’s of evidence supporting that assertion, but she was foolish enough to marry me, so she can’t really be all that bright.

CrossFit
Exercise has always been my release. It’s my outlet for stress, my time for meditation, and my chance to spend an hour or so just focusing on being the best I can be. CrossFit has given me the chance to turn what was once a personal hobby and something I helped out a few people with into a full-blown career and lifestyle. That’s pretty nice.

Fish Oil
Because without it, I think my knees would have fallen off from all of these squats.
